Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
