Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The influential industry figure passed away following his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a highway in LA on Sunday morning, according to.
